UPSET WATCH ..Week 2, Racine Southern @ Notre Dame, Wheelerburg @ South Point, Minford @ Wellston, Green @ Piketon, Valley @ Northwest

HEADS UP

My heads up for Week 2 goes to the Valley Indians and Wheelerburg Pirates, if you cough it up 6 times, NW is capable of winning this game, now whether they do or not, is yet to be determined. Chris Smith will keep the pointers within striking distance against the burg.

UPSET SPECIAL OF THE WEEK

I'm taking Notre Dame over Racine Southern.

The goal of this website is to provide falcons fans with the best information and news on their falcons with rosters, scores, and even live updates this website is designed to give falcon fans a inside look at their falcons.

Minford heads in to 2006 seaon with a experienced laiden squad.

The falcons will head into the 2006 season with a experienced football team under head coach Bob Ashley, and 2nd year highly reguarded defensive coordinator Brent Daniels. Playmakers will be abundant on both sides of the football. QB Luke Lester enters his senior season with 2 years starting experience under his belt, while senior Sean Childers, and junior power back Trent Reynolds look to be the backbone of the falcons offensive backfield.  Both will compete for 1000 yards on the ground during the upcoming season. On defense things look promising, with players like James Ramey, Max Liles, Ethan Gaines, Sean Childers, Zach White, along with many others returning from the falcons 2005 defense.  The Oline has raised some concern, but on my part, I feel there is not much to worry about with players like Max Liles, and Chad Bentley blocking for our athletic backs. LB James Ramey who also sees time on the offensive line, is a tough kid with great intangibles. TE/WR Zach White returns after going through 2005 suffering a pesky leg injury leaving him under 100 percent through out most of the year. At 6 foot 3 inches tall, Zach White is a quick TE/WR who can also go up and get a jump ball if needed. Ethan Gaines, and Seth Iverson are also a few names who could be seeing the ball more this season on the offensive side of the football. Gaines is trademarked by his work etthic and heart, and Iverson by his tremendous acceleration and break away speed once he gets into the open field. Both will attempt to fill the shoes of 2006 graduate Nick Pendleton. New comer Chris Stiltner is also capable of bring a spark to the falcons with his athleticism and enthusiasm. Things are optimistic in falcon land, as the fans just lay low and hope for the best as the season draws closer. Another great thing is the brand new stadium these seniors will go out on. PICTURES OF STADIUM COMING SOON!!!

Falcons feature young but experience backfield

The falcons may have a young backfield, but they are experienced from last season. Sean Childers, Trent Reynolds, and Ethan Gaines, will be taking the carries for the falcons this season. Childers is a player capable of making plays using both power and speed. Fisher is a quick, and agile back who makes plenty of plays with just speed alone. Gaines is the youngest of the falcon trio. Gaines had a big game in the 2005 season against Northwest as he rushed for over 150 yards. Gaines will be seeing some carries this season. If the injury bug hits us again, he could be seeing more and more carries as the seaon progresses.

Lester impresses at 7 on 7

Junior QB Luke Lester has been impressive at the 7 on 7's this season.

Week 1 Opponet breakdown - Piketon RedStreeks, Piketon returns starters, including a star in the backfield. They pound it out on the ground, and are a talented football team. Minford needs to avoid turnovers to get out of Piketon with the win.

Unity a strong pointof 2006 Falcons

When you think of the 2006 Minford Falcons, you think about a total team effort and team unity. Although both  young and old this group works together and works hard, and they do it well. I think this is what is going to make this team special and allow them to have some success this season. When this team wins football games, it is made possible by a total team effort.
